Webb1 sep. 2004 · Hi i had a problem with my phone line (crackling) i did whatever their adviser told me to do on the phone but it didn't solve the problem so an engineer called 11 days after the fault was reported in less than 5minutes he checked the line and told me that it is lead from sky digi box. Webb18 juli 2014 · Unplug all equipment Unplug ALL filters, Sky Boxes and telephones from the other sockets in the house. Check again with your known good phone in each telephone socket. If you now have dial tone then the short circuit fault is in one of the pieces of equipment or filters you previously removed.

WebbIf you have dial tone then your extension wiring or something plugged in to an extension socket such as Sky box, faulty ADSL filter has a short circuit on it. This makes the phone line dead every time you plug the front plate back in. This is how things should look. Clean, no corrosion, wires terminated correctly and pushed firmly into the slots.
